Mercedes-Benz Showcases RIDEEVU Entertainment Services At CES 2025, Offers Cinema Nuances In Car Cabin
JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz together with Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), IMAX Corporation, and a subsidiary of Xperi, Digital Theater Sound (DTS), announced the launch of an in-car entertainment system called RIDEEVU at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, United States (US).
It said the service will provide various IMSA Enhanced content from Sony Pictures, starting with the Mercedes-Benz model with the latest generation MBUX which launched this summer.
Mercedes-Benz AG Chief Software Officer Magnus Ostberg said the new service will offer a new experience in watching movies in Mercedes-Benz cars in a cinema-like atmosphere.
With this service, we will add an exciting new dimension in watching movies at Mercedes-Benz. Our large format HD screen gives our customers the best seating at home, fulfilling the cockpit with bright colors and immersive sounds, such as in theaters," Ostberg said on the brand's official website, Wednesday, January 8.
Xperi's Chief Content Officer, Bill Neighbors added that this collaboration helps vehicle users to get different entertainment when traveling in their car.
"Through this collaboration, we not only provide quality audio experiences, we also help bridge the gap between houses and vehicles, provide entertainment that is personalized according to consumer wishes," Bill explained.

This service introduces a further entertainment experience in cars by presenting various catalogs of IMAX Enhanced films from Sony Pictures such as Venom: The Last Dance, Spider: No Way Home, and Uncharted.
Designed for cars, RIDEEVU connects Sony Pictures films with its advanced streaming technology to create the first in-car entertainment experience in its kind.
RIDEEVU presents the IMAX Enhanced film option featuring the IMAX expanded aspect ratio (EAR), IMAX's DMR process, and DTS:X voice, available in various languages.
The service has been fully integrated with a certain number of OEMs, including Mercedes-Benz as the first global automotive manufacturer to receive RIDEEVU.
It is stated that the RDEVU service will be available in several countries, consisting of the US, Japan, Britain, Ireland, and Germany. This feature can be tried in the CES 2025 event through the Mercedes-Benz E-Class model which takes place on January 7-10.
