Santer Becomes Indonesian National Team Coach, Patrick Kluivert Will Bring 2 Assistants

JAKARTA - Patrick Kluivert is widely said to be Shin Tae-yong's replacement coach in the Indonesian national team. In the midst of this news, the Dutch media revealed two assistant coaches who would accompany Kluivert in leading the Garuda Squad.

Based on the Voetbal International narrative quoted on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, the two assistant names are Alex Pastoor and Denny Landzaat.

"Alex Pastoor followed Patrick Kluivert to Indonesia. The 58-year-old coach will be the country's national assistant coach. Denny Landzaat will also play a role in the Indonesian team," the report said.

The figure of Alex Pastoor is a coach who had handled Almere City. He served from the end of 2021 until last summer before finally deciding to take a long leave.

"After several months of unemployment, Pastoor accepted the offer to become an assistant for Kluiver in Indonesia. Pastoors have now reached an oral agreement with the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI)," explained the same source.

The second name, namely Lanzaat, is also said to be guarding Kluiver. However, it did not explain in detail what his main task was under the leadership of Kluiver later.

Lanzaat is a former professional footballer who is now 48 years old. He was part of Pascal Jensen's coaching team at the Hungarian Ferencvaros, but has signed a contract with the New York City FC.

After officially sacking Shin Tae-yong from the coaching chair of the Indonesian national team on Monday, January 6, 2025, the name Kluiver is strongly rumored to be a substitute figure.

However, PSSI has yet to issue any statement regarding the new names to be brought in. They only said that the announcement of the new coach would be officially introduced on January 12, 2025.
