Palace: Nutritious Eating Programs In Several Provinces Still Use Prabowo's Personal Funds

JAKARTA - Head of the Presidential Communication Office, Hasan Nasbi, confirmed that the implementation of free nutritious eating programs in a number of areas is still supported by President Prabowo Subianto's personal funds.

This happens because some regions still have the remaining budget from the previous trial program.

One example is Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi. They are still using the remaining trial budget previously given by Pak Prabowo," Hasan Nasbi said in his statement, Tuesday, January 7.

However, Hasan ensured that after the remaining budget was exhausted, the implementation of the free nutritious food program (MBG) in these areas would fully use the state budget (APBN).

In 2025, the budget for the MBG program managed by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) will reach IDR 71 trillion.

"After that, they will use funds from the APBN which are channeled through BGN," Hasan added.

The free nutritious dining program is one of the priorities of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka's administration.

This program has been running in 26 provinces in Indonesia involving around 190 nutritional fulfillment services (SPPG) or the MBG kitchen. These kitchens provide nutritious food for school children and pregnant women.

Each MBG kitchen is led by a head of the SPPG who is appointed directly by BGN. They cooperate with nutritionists and accountants to ensure smooth distribution of food, maintain quality, and meet the nutritional standards needed by beneficiaries.
