Deputy Minister Sudaryono Invites Pwmuda To Supervise Subsidized Fertilizer Distribution
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) Sudaryono invited the Indonesian Farmers Youth organization to play an active role in supervising the distribution of subsidized fertilizers so that there is no misappropriation and right on target to Tang farmers in need.
"The role of monitoring youth is important so that there is no misappropriation or fraud in the field, especially in the process of distributing subsidized fertilizer directly to farmers," Deputy Minister of Agriculture said in the Inauguration of Branch Children Management (PAC) and Indonesian Farmers Branch Ratting in Bondowoso, East Java, as stated in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 7.
Deputy Minister Sudaryono or who is familiarly called Mas Dar revealed that currently the subsidized fertilizer quota has been increased to 9.5 million tons per year. Therefore, it takes the role of the Farmer Youth to become the eyes and ears of the government in facilitating the distribution of subsidized fertilizers.
"I want farm youth to be the eyes and ears of the government if there are matters of complicated fertilizer, Youth Farmers must report immediately. Why? Because currently the fertilizer quota is 100 percent or 9.5 million tons from the previous 4.5 million tons," he said.
According to the Deputy Minister, the incoming reports will be immediately followed up by the Food Task Force team and the Ministry of Agriculture.
He emphasized that the acceleration of food self-sufficiency, according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction, must be achieved quickly and accurately.
"We will follow up all reports quickly. This is for the sake of achieving food self-sufficiency according to President Prabowo's instructions. He really emphasized not to be long-winded and work immediately," he explained.
The Deputy Minister also said that the distribution of fertilizers is now easier, with regulations centered in the Ministry of Agriculture. Starting January 1, 2025, farmers can get fertilizers only by bringing their ID cards as the main condition.
"Since January 1, 2025, farmers have been able to buy fertilizers with ID cards only. All processes are made easier to ensure farmers get easier access to subsidized fertilizers," he added.
On the same occasion, the Secretary General of Indonesian Farmers Youth Soeroyo stated the organization's readiness to support government programs in increasing agricultural production.

"We are ready to be deployed to South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Sumatra, to Merauke in Papua. We want to be part of efforts to achieve food self-sufficiency," said Soeroyo.
With a spirit of mutual cooperation and a high commitment, Indonesian Farmers Youth is ready to support the government in realizing better national food security.
