KPK Opens Hasto Capture Option If Absent After Requesting Rescheduling

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has opened the option of issuing an arrest warrant for the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto if he does not fulfill the investigator's summons.

"For suspects, investigators can issue arrest warrants. For suspects, yes," Tessa told reporters quoted on Tuesday, January 7.

Even so, Tessa believes Hasto has fulfilled the investigator's summons according to his statement. "His party will also respect the ongoing legal procedures and processes," he said.

As for the schedule for Hasto's recall, Tessa has not yet detailed. "It is certain that it is rescheduled, most likely above the 10th (January, ed)," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

Previously reported, the KPK has named PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah as PDIP cadres and lawyers as suspects in alleged bribery related to interim shifts (PAW) for members of the DPR RI.

In this case, Hasto and Donny have not been detained but have been prevented from leaving the country for six months. The same prohibition also applies to the former Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) of the era of President Joko Widodo, Yasonna H Laoly.
