Minister Of Religion Nasaruddin Ensures The Quality Of Hajj Services In 2025 Is Maintained Even Though The Cost Is Down

Minister of Religion (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar is optimistic that the 2025 Hajj Implementation Fee (BPIH) reduction of IDR 4 million will not affect the quality of services for pilgrims.

He emphasized that savings are carried out carefully without reducing components that support the comfort and experience of congregational worship.

"We ensure that there is no decline in the quality of congregational services. Our concern is to provide the best service with a service approach, not business," Nasaruddin said in a press conference after a meeting with Commission VIII DPR at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, January 6.

This decrease in costs, according to Nasaruddin, is the result of intensive cooperation between the Ministry of Religion, Commission VIII of the DPR, the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH), and related institutions. The team conducted a thorough evaluation of the cost components that were deemed non-essential, including steps to reduce potential irregularities.

"We are even trying to ensure that there are no irregularities in budget management," he said.

Nasaruddin also revealed that logically the cost of Hajj should increase given the prediction of an increase in spending prices in Saudi Arabia as well as fluctuations in the US dollar exchange rate. However, the government has succeeded in optimizing budget efficiency without sacrificing service quality.

"Plogically it should cost an increase, but thank God we were able to reduce it with the right efficiency measures," he added.

In the agreement between the government and the DPR, BPIH 2025 was set at IDR 89,410,258.79, a decrease of IDR 4 million from the cost of 2024 which reached IDR 93.4 million. Of this total, the congregation bears around 62% or IDR 55,431,750.78, while the remaining 38% is covered by the value of the benefits of managing Hajj finance.

With this decline, the government hopes to ease the burden on the costs of the pilgrims without reducing the comfort and experience of their worship.
