DJKI Said About Radja's Alleged Plagiarism In What Song Is Missing On Spotify

The Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia also responded to Radja's alleged plagiarism in the song "What Sih", which is said to have resulted in the disappearance of the song on the Spotify platform.

Agung Damarsasongko as Director of Copyright and Industrial Design of DJKI stated that his party welcomes every digital platform that commercializes copyright to have their own policies to protect the rights of each creator.

He reminded that respect for copyright is an important foundation in the creative industry.

"Creativity must be respected and protected. We urge industry players to always create original works and respect the copyright of other parties," Agung said in a press release on Friday, December 3.

As a precautionary measure, DJKI encourages all creators to record their copyright through an e-HakCipta electronic system that is easily accessible. They also invite the public to be more concerned about copyright protection and support the development of a healthy creative industry.

"Awareness of the importance of copyright must become a shared culture, so that Indonesia can become a creative ecosystem that supports the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045," said Agung.

Furthermore, Agung emphasized that any commercial use of copyrighted works without permission from the creator or copyright holder has serious legal consequences.

"Creational rights are the exclusive rights of creators or copyright holders of their works. Violations of these rights can not only harm creators but also disrupt the creative industry ecosystem," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding Radja's alleged plagiarism of the song APT. From Rosé and Bruno Mars, Agung assessed that there must be a study first, the location of the similarities between the two songs being compared.

In essence, what is said to be a copyright infringement is the use of copyright owned by other parties without rights, either entirely, partly or substantially. Therefore, according to Agung, to create a work and express it is the right of everyone, but caution is needed so as not to harm other parties.

On the other hand, creators and copyright holders can send subpoenas if they find allegations of copyright infringement. If the summons is not responded to, then the creator and copyright holder can take legal action by making a complaint report to the Indonesian Police Investigator or the DJKI Civil Servant Investigator (PPNS).

If the report is proven to be detrimental to the creator or rights holder, the party who commits the violation can receive punishment in accordance with the provisions of Law Number 28 concerning Copyright.
