Sri Mulyani Hopes Capital Market Education Will Be Conducted Since Elementary School
Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati advised that currently capital market education should have been taught since the age of elementary school (SD) is no longer new to being taught in higher education.
Sri Mulyani said that she had just started studying the capital market at a university.
Therefore, capital market education must be provided from an early age, so that the younger generation can understand the investment world early.
"We are starting to be taught about the IDX, understanding about selling and stocks. Now this should start to be taught not at the student level anymore but even at the elementary school level, so they become getting familiar with the stock exchange," said Sri Mulyani at the opening of IDX trading in 2025 on Thursday, January 2.
Therefore, Sri Mulyani encouraged all parties to continue to innovate in presenting more affordable investment instruments for the community.
The state treasurer hopes that capital market education will be included in the SD curriculum to help students understand the concept of early stock transactions so that they are accustomed to the investment world.
"This can only be done if we are together. Later into the curriculum, how to deliver it and how they feel used to transactions," he said.
On the same occasion, IDX President Director Iman Rachman said that his party would try to provide capital market education to all levels of education and currently.
