Government Adds Rice Food Aid To 6 Months In 2025

Head of the National Food Agency (NFA) Arief Prasetyo Adi said previously the government had ensured that rice food aid was held again in January and February 2025.
Then, continued Arief, in a Limited Meeting on December 30, it was decided to add four months. Thus, the total allocation of rice food aid is given for six months.
Furthermore, Arief also said that the allocation of rice food assistance had received the blessing of President Prabowo Subianto.
"Alhamdulillah, Mr. President Prabowo has approved rice food assistance for six months in 2025. So January, then February. Then the next four months, it will be adjusted when the month will be," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, December 31.
Arief also ensured that Perum Bulog was ready to distribute food aid for six months in 2025. The total required rice reached 960,000 tons.
"But what is certain is that the government and Bulog are ready to distribute a total of 6 months of allocation and the total rice is 960,000 tons to 16 million PBP (Receivers of Food Assistance) in 2025 according to the proposal of the Coordinating Minister for Food (Zulkifli Hasan) yesterday at the Ratas," he said.
Arief said this program was given as part of the economic policy package. At the same time as a cushion for low-income people, as well as to maintain upstream and downstream.

"We understand, for rice food assistance in 2025, the government continues to sharpen the database of PBP recipients. For this reason, we focus on decile groups 1 and 2 as well as women who are women heads of poor families and single elderly people," he said.
Furthermore, Arief said the database of recipients of rice assistance in 2025 would use data on the Socio-Economic Registration (Regsosek) of the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (Ministry of VAT/Bappenas).
"The details consist of 15.6 million PBP deciles 1 and 2, as well as 400,000 PBP women for poor household heads and single elderly," he said.
