Quit Smoking Becomes A Healthy Resolution In 2025? Here Are Tips According To Experts
JAKARTA - FKUI Lung Specialist Professor Prof. Tjandra Yoga Aditama said that among a series of resolutions that people want to achieve in 2025, one of which is about health and quitting smoking can be included.
"Indeed, sometimes there are complaints that quitting smoking is not easy. This is not entirely true," said Director of Postgraduates at YARSI University, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 31.
According to him, with a strong intention, a person will be able to quit smoking, especially if they get support from their family or close relatives.
Prof. Tjandra said, methodologically there are at least three ways to quit smoking, and the first is by yourself. One can immediately stop completely.
According to him, this method is often higher in success, but also the possibility of a greater relapse. For this reason, if you have succeeded in quitting smoking directly without gradual cooperation, then there must be compensation activities after that, such as consumption of fruit, sports, and others so that you don't want to smoke again.
Then it dropped gradually and then stopped. In this way, the number of recurrences is smaller and the success rate may also not be as large as when compared to the direct total stopping method.
Prof. Tjandra suggested to increase the number of successes by determining the hours or smoking times in one day. This means that a person can only smoke at the specified hours, not when they want to smoke.
"Set exactly how much the number of cigarettes that are smoked from time to time and when the date to finally stop and don't smoke anymore," he said.
He also suggested that this effort fully involves family and relatives to participate in monitoring and reminding the schedule for lowering cigarette cigarettes and regarding compliance with date agreements to finally stop smoking.

"The methods used include individual or group consultations, telephone assistance, use of certain brochures and tips and others. It can also be done through the support of certain spiritual activities and or approaches," he said.
