Revealed! Viral Perpetrators Of Illegal Cranes At Halim Toll Road Number 4 People: 1 Arrested By Police, 3 Others Escaped

JAKARTA - The police have arrested a wild crane who went viral on social media. The perpetrator blackmailed a car that broke down on the inner-city toll road heading to Halim, East Jakarta.

Head of Public Relations of Jakarta Metro Police, Kombes Yusri Yunus, said that in the process of arrest, there were actually four people who would be arrested. However, three of them managed to escape.

"While we secured the person concerned with the initials YJ at KM 10 Cikunir. When the team was carrying out the patrol, the team found one vehicle, 4 people were stopped in the truck, 3 people fled and 1 was secured", Yusri told reporters, Thursday, April 15.

The police also secured the truck that the perpetrator used to carry out the illegal crane action. From a provisional inspection, they are illegal cranes.

"Indeed, this is a crane but it has been dead since 2012. STNK (Vehicle Registration Certificate) and SIM (Driver license) are not used for allotment licenses, this is SIM A (car driver license) for ordinary four-wheeled vehicles", said Yusri.

Besides,  Director of Traffic Jakarta Police Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said that in this matter, the perpetrators were suspected of being under Articles 287 and 288 of the Road Traffic and Transportation Law. Thus, the threat of imprisonment for 2 months and a fine of IDR500 thousand.

Meanwhile, in the case of coercion of illegal cranes, the police are still waiting for reports from the victims.

"(Article) is related to vehicle registration and driving license documents because this crane must be at least B1 (license for large four-wheelers) but the preparator only has SIM A", said Sambodo.

Meanwhile, viral on social media videos showing the coercion of wild cranes.

In the video uploaded by the @info_jakartatimur Instagram account, a truck driver is approached by several illegal cranes on the Toll Road near the Halim Toll Gate, East Jakarta.

They seem to force the driver to tow their vehicle. In fact, the burial of these illegal cranes was carried out by banging the driver's car glass.
