Indonesia Gets 221 Thousand Hajj Quota, Minister Of Religion Negotiates Additional Officers
Minister of Religion, Nasaruddin Umar said the Saudi Arabian government had set a quota for Hajj 2025/1446 Hijri for Indonesian pilgrims as many as 221,000 people. However, the quota for Hajj officers next year will decrease.
"According to information from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The quota of Indonesian Hajj officers to date is 2,210 people. So this is a reduction from the previous year. This number has not reached the ideal stage considering the pilgrims that must be served by 221,000 people," said Nasaruddin at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, December 30.
"Therefore, we continue to strive to get the quota of officers as the previous year. If the previous year it was 4,200 but there was an additional 500 to 4,700 people in 2024 then 4,600 people in that year," he continued.

So that the Minister of Religion negotiated with the Minister of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia to be able to increase the quota of 2025 Hajj officers.
"I conveyed to the minister that at that time we had a bit of difficulty and really applied to the minister of Hajj so that the additional quota is a minimum like last year," he said.

The consideration, continued Nasaruddin, is that Indonesian pilgrims have waited for up to 48 years too long. "So on average our pilgrims at that time were old and needed assistance and most appropriate and effective they were of course assistance from Indonesia," he said.
"Because the language is the same, maybe a common history of illness also knows because a member of his family and actually helps his own brother. Because more and more of our workforce, the more assistance we provide, it will automatically reduce the burden on his own brother's officers, it will disturb the ministers at that time," he continued.
However, Nasaruddin added, negotiations can only be carried out if they have paid all the required costs. So, said Nasaruddin, until today the Ministry of Religion has not proposed an additional quota of hajj officers.
"However, God willing, after the financial discussion is finished, we will negotiate," he concluded.
