Attending The 2024 National Christmas Celebration At GBK, Vice President Gibran Had A Selfie With The Congregation

JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President), Gibran Rakabuming Raka arrived at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Jakarta, Saturday, December 28 afternoon, to attend the 2024 National Christmas Celebration. The presence of the Vice President was warmly welcomed by around 11,000 participants in the activity that had gathered at the main building of the Indonesia Arena since noon.

The vice president who was present wearing a brown batik arrived at around 18.30 WIB accompanied by the Minister of Religion Narasuddin Umar and was greeted by the General Chairperson of the 2024 National Christmas Celebration, Thomas Djiwandono. The vice president then took the time to take selfies with a number of congregants along the track to the position of sitting in the VVIP ranks.

Apart from the Vice President, members of the Red and White Cabinet were also present, including Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, Minister of PPA Arifah Fauzi.

In addition, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, National Police Chief Sulistyo Sigit, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, TNI Commander Agus Subianto, and Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin.

The organizers of the 2024 Christmas peak celebration also invited the presence of President Prabowo Subianto.

The peak event began at 17.00 WIB with Christmas worship led by various religious leaders and accompanied by a choir from a leading university.

The highlight of the event featured Medley Nusantara, a collaboration between art and traditional clothes. The celebration closed with prayers, greetings and peace, and the appearance of the student choir until 21.30 WIB.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Indonesian Bishops' Conference (KWI) Mgr. Antonius Subianto Bunjamin, in his statement emphasized the importance of highlighting this year's Christmas theme which highlighted Bethlehem as a symbol of hope, justice, and prosperity.

"We are heading for Bethlehem not only in the theological sense, but also as a symbol of new hope for the Indonesian nation. Especially in the new government under President Prabowo Subianto, we hope that this Christmas will bring the spirit of brotherhood across religions and social justice," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

In addition, the 2024 National Christmas celebration is expected not only to be a ceremony, but rather a momentum for spiritual reflection and social solidarity.
