Ministry Of Agriculture Asks People To Be Alert About False Information Food Brigades

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) appealed to the public to be careful of false information circulating regarding the Food Brigade.

Head of the Public Relations and Information Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture, Moch. Arief Cahyono, reminded the public to be more selective in receiving and disseminating information related to this program.

"We urge the public to always verify information related to the Food Brigade directly from the official sources of the Ministry of Agriculture. The hoaxes circulating can hinder the implementation of programs and harm many parties, especially farmers who spearhead the success of this program," Arief said in a statement to the media, Saturday, December 28.

Arief explained that several hoaxes that are often found on social media include False Information about Millennial Farmers Registration Process, Misinformation dissemination related to the mechanism for the formation and registration of the Food Brigade and a salary of Rp. 10 million. He also denied claims regarding the provision of assistance for agricultural machinery and fertilizers with certain rewards, as well as the manipulation of the Program's Success Data by spreading manipulated data to lead to negative opinions on the program.

For this reason, he appealed to the public to check information sources by ensuring that information came from the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture or official communication channels such as verified social media accounts.

Second, by directly contacting the Agricultural Counseling Center (BPP) or local agricultural extension workers. And lastly, do not participate in spreading content that has not been confirmed (verified).

"With the full support of all parties, including public awareness in fighting hoaxes, we are optimistic that the Food Brigade will succeed in becoming a modern agricultural driving force in Indonesia," said Arief.
