Deputy Minister Tiko: RUPTL 2025-2034 Is In The Approval Process
Deputy Minister of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said the electricity supply business plan (RUPTL) would be decided in January 2025.
The man who is familiarly called Tiko said that PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) was targeted to increase the power generation capacity by 71 Gigawatts (GW).
"We discussed a little about the 2025-2034 RUPTL, which is currently in the process of approval. Later, the plan with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil with the Minister of Finance will be a final meeting, maybe in January we will decide," said Tiko as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 27.
In the discussion, he continued, PLN is committed to starting to build power plants with new and renewable energy (EBT) in a maximum of 2025.
"We will build a 71 GW new capacity later, 2025'2034, where the majority are indeed EBT," said Tiko.
Furthermore, Tiko also said that PLN will use a smartgrid and build an inter-island grid between Sumatra-Java and Kalimantan-Java. Thus, the capacity of EBT produced in Sumatra and Kalimantan can be withdrawn to Java.
With this big plan, the government seeks to balance energy resilience, energy affordability, and energy sustainability.
"That's the plan for the next 10 years," said Tiko.
In the agenda of a hearing (RDP) with Commission XII of the DPR RI in Jakarta, Monday, December 2, 2024, PT PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said that his party would increase the construction of a power plant with a capacity of 68 gigawatts (GW) until 2033.
"Of the 68 gigawatts, 46 gigawatts are based on renewable energy, meaning that 67 percent of the next 10 years of power generation will be based on new and renewable energy," said Darmawan.
