Oleksandr Usyk Wears Fake Rolex Watch After Earning IDR 1.4 Trillion

JAKARTA The heavyweight boxer Oleksandr Usyk only wore a fake Rolex watch just days after he earned 69 million from his win against Tyson Fury.

The watch was bought by Usyk on a beach in Turkey as he was preparing to undergo a rematch against Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on December 21, 2024.

Usyk said that he decided to buy a fake Rolex because he knew no one would dare to question the authenticity of the watch after he pocketed millions of dollars throughout his career.

"I'm a little proud of myself and showing the cameraman my watch. It's a Rolex made in China."

"I was in Turkey for training and saw people selling Rolex on the beach," he was quoted as saying by The Sun.

The Ukrainian champion won the rematch against Fury to defend his WBO, WBA, and WBC heavyweight titles.

According to Pravda's report, the unbeaten heavyweight earned an astonishing income of 86 million US dollars or 69 million from the win.

The 37-year-old boxer extended the victory to 23 fights. Thus, he should have been able to buy a luxurious watch with that series of achievements.

"I thought if I bought one, no one would suspect it was fake. So, I bought it for 100 US dollars or 80 pounds," he said.

Usyk previously defeated Fury in May 2024 to become the undisputed world heavyweight champion for the first time since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

Usyk's next fight is likely to be played by the next undisputed heavyweight champion against the IBF belt holder.

The IBF belt is currently in the hands of British fighter Daniel Dubois. The 27-year-old boxer will guard the title in February 2025 against Joseph Parker of New Zealand.

Dubois is also ready to fight Usyk to become the undisputed world champion. If the scenario goes smoothly then their duel can take place at the end of 2025.
