The Message Of The Bishop Of The 2024 Christmas Mass At The Cathedral Church Emphasizes Solidarity And Realizes Social Teachings
JAKARTA - Bishop Ignatius Cardinal Suharyo conveyed a message to realize the church's social teachings at the 2024 Christmas Mass, one of which respects human dignity and emphasizes solidarity.
Suharyo gave examples such as cases of victims of online gambling (judol) and online loans which eventually resulted in the family being destroyed.
He assessed that the incident started with the alignment of dignity and lust so that he took this step.
"We often hear families destroyed because of online gambling or online loans. That's why they are lured like in advertisements, want to be rich but can't borrow," said Suharyo to reporters at the Cathedral Church, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, December 25.
"That's actually behind it or things like that can easily be placed in the struggle for partiality to human dignity," he continued.
Then, other examples such as the large number of people who have problems related to Identity Cards (KTP), so as to make their children get maximum education.
Then related to food waste that continues to increase day by day. However, many of them are starving because they don't have food.

"Special parties pay attention to our disadvantaged brothers and sisters. Solidarity like anything, business as much as possible, there are still our brothers and sisters who are less fortunate," he said.
Therefore, he hopes that this year's Christmas, his government can serve the maximum expected people in the hope that the independence will become a reality.
"We can check the situation of our society, our country, is this really the common good, social justice for all Indonesian people. When institutions that should fight for the common good, not all of them are involved in corruption, are involved in bribery, and so on," he said.
"Leaders who do not want to be served, but really want to serve our entire nation. Thus, it is hoped that the ideals of independence will become a increasingly clear reality from day to day," he said
