Kaleidoscope 2024, Home Interior Design Trend, Nature Touch Becomes The Most Popular

JAKARTA - The turn of the year is in sight. Before rearranging the house with new decorations, there was a series of interior designs that were popular in 2024.

Quoted from Insider, Thursday, December 26, Alice Moszczynski, an interior designer at Planner 5D, told Insider that the biophilic design became a trend this year. The main goal of biophilic design is to increase connectivity with natural elements through direct and indirect use of nature.

"The essence of biophilic design is the feeling of when you are in the open, surrounded by fertile green plants and natural light. It's all about bringing out the open world," says Moszczynski. He said this design style involves more natural materials, sunlight, and plants.

Jennifer Verruto, CEO and founder of Blythe Interiors, told Insider that round shapes will appear in homes in 2024. She also said the arch "provides a sophisticated ancient atmosphere", however, is quite versatile to mix with various design styles.

Kelly Marohl, interior designer at Neutral Home Design, said that this year there are more nuances of forest green in various parts of the house. Home owners who choose dark and soft colors place the forest green at the top of their list in 2024.

Moszczynski said warm colors take over when people are looking for a comfortable atmosphere in their homes. This year more shows the colors of ground brown, the rich city, and deep oranges are the center of attention.

"These colors present comfort and simplicity in your room, creating a friendly atmosphere," he said.

According to interior designer Julia Longchamps of Julia Longchamps Design, the home owner welcomed the scamped design at their home this year. He said the jagged edges became a good accent on the cupboard.

On the other hand, interior designer Debbe Daley said there are several things to be left behind in 2024. Industrial style, which emphasizes elements such as concrete floors, high ceilings, as well as architectural structures and open pipes, has been popular for some time, and began to be abandoned a lot in 2024.

In addition, the ultra-minimalis, which is characterized by neutral colors and little detail as well as furniture, will begin to disappear. The gray trend, which used to be popular, began to disappear in 2024.
