Christmas Holiday, Jasa Marga Records 993,440 Vehicles Leaving Jabodetabek
JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR) noted, as many as 993,440 vehicles left the Jabotabek area on D-7 to D-2 Christmas Day 2024 which fell in the period Wednesday-Monday (18-23 December 2024).
This figure is the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from the four Main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (to Merak), GT Ciawi (to Puncak), GT Cikampek Utama (towards Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (towards Bandung).
Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana said the total volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 15.0 percent when compared to normal traffic (863,724 vehicles) in the same period.
When compared to the Christmas 2023 period, the total volume of this traffic is 9.1 percent lower, which is 1,093,363 vehicles.
For traffic distribution leaving Jabotabek to three directions, the majority were 459,560 vehicles or 46.3 percent headed East (Trans Java and Bandung), 310,052 vehicles or 31.2 percent headed for the West (Merak) and 223,828 vehicles or 22.5 percent headed for the South (Puncak).
The details of the traffic distribution are traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta Toll Road Cikampek, with a total of 238,097 vehicles, an increase of 40.3 percent from normal traffic.
Then, traffic left Jabotabek heading towards Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road with a total of 221,463 vehicles, an increase of 13.9 percent from normal traffic.
"The total traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java and Bandung through the two GTs is 459,560 vehicles, an increase of 26.2 percent from normal traffic," said Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana in a written statement, Tuesday, December 24.
Next, traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Merak via the Cikupa GT Tangerang Toll Road Merak is 310,052 vehicles, an increase of 8.2 percent from normal traffic.
"Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek heading towards Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road was 223,828 vehicles, an increase of 5.1 percent from normal traffic," he said.
Jasa Marga also noted an increase in vehicles heading East, namely Trans Java and Bandung on Monday, December 23, at GT Cikampek Utama as many as 72,778 vehicles, an increase of 39.0 percent from normal traffic, namely 52,374 vehicles.

By looking at the increase in the volume of vehicles leaving the Jabotabek area towards the East and South, said Lisye, Jasa Marga ensures that Jasa Marga Group toll road operations are optimal.
"Especially on toll roads that have the potential to become favorite tourist destinations for road users during long holidays, including the Jakarta 'Cikampek and Cipularang Toll Roads to Trans Java and Bandung as well as the Jagorawi Toll Road towards Puncak," he said.
Lisye appealed to toll road users to anticipate the journey of the Nataru 2024/2025 holiday period well. Before entering the toll road, make sure the vehicle and driver are in top condition, ensure the adequacy of fuel, balance electronic money cards and use enough time to rest in rest areas and obey signs and directions from officers in the field.
