BMKG Issues Early Warning Of Extreme Weather In Six Banten Regions

LEBAK The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning regarding extreme weather in six areas in Banten Province on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

BMKG predicts the potential for moderate to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning or lightning will occur in a number of areas.

Areas affected by extreme weather include: 1. Pandeglang Regency: Sumur, Cimanggu, Cibaliung, Cikeusik, Cigeulis, Panimbang, Angsana, Munjul, Pagelaran, Bojong, Picung, Labuan, Menes, Saketi, Cipeucang, Jiput, Mandalawangi, Cimanuk, Kaduhejo, Banjar, Cisata, Patia, Cikedal, Cibitung, Cibitung, Sukaresmi, Mekarjaya, Sindangresmi, Pulosari, Majasari, Sobang. 2. Lebak Regency: Rangkasbitung, Maja, Cibadak, Warunggunung, Kalanganyar, Cilingur, Panggaran, Bayah, Cipanas, Muncang, Leuwidamar, Bojongmanik, Gunungkencanika, Banjarsari, Cimarga, Sajijaku, Cikulurang, Cibeber, Cilograng, Wanasalam, Sobang, Curug Bitung, Lebakgedong, Cihara, Ciwanten, Cigembemlong.

3. Serang Regency: Kramatwatu, Bojonegara, Pulo Ampel, Padarincang, Anyar, Cinangka, Mancak, Waringinkung, Ciruas, Kragilan, Pontang, Tirtayasa, Tanara, Cikande, Kibin, Carenang, Binuang, Lightning, Tunjung Teja, Baros, Cikeusal, Pamarayan, Kopo, Jawilan, Ciomas, Pabuaran, Gunung Sari, Bandung, Lebak Wangi.

4. City of Cilegon: Cibeber, Cilegon, Pulomerak, Jombang, Gerogol, Purwakarta, Citangkil, Ciwandan, and surrounding areas.

5. Serang City: Serang, Kasemen, Walantaka, Curug, Cipocok Jaya, Taktakan, and surrounding areas.

The potential for rain is expected to occur throughout the day, from morning, afternoon, afternoon, to evening with moderate to heavy intensity, accompanied by strong winds and lightning.

The Head of BPBD of Lebak Regency, Febby Rizky Pratama, reminded the public to be aware of hydrometeorological disasters such as floods, landslides, ground movement, and high waves on the southern coast of Lebak.

"So far, Lebak Regency has been categorized as a hydrometeorological disaster-prone area because of geographical conditions consisting of mountains, hills, river flows, and coastal areas," said Febby.

He also emphasized the importance of public vigilance to anticipate the impact of extreme weather in order to minimize the risk of casualties and injuries.

"We urge the public to remain alert and monitor the latest information from the BMKG regarding this extreme weather," he added.
