Amorim Had No Intervention from Manchester United Top Brass Over Rashford Issue

JAKARTA - Ruben Amorim is not under pressure from Manchester United's top brass regarding the problem with Marcus Rashford.

The Portuguese coach is allowed to handle the situation with the striker without outside interference.

Rashford has been dropped from the squad list for the last three consecutive matches, including the 0-3 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

After being ostracized from the first team, in the Manchester Derby match, Rashford indicated his intention to leave Old Trafford. In an interview, he expressed his readiness for a new challenge.

The problem is, Rashford's continued absence could endanger Manchester United's negotiating position ahead of a possible move when the January 2025 transfer window opens.

Rashford still has a contract until June 2028 after renewing his cooperation in July 2023. However, anything can happen, especially if the interested club is willing to pay the release clause.

Amorim will be left to decide when to reintegrate Rashford without pressure from co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe or Technical Director Jason Wilcox to bring him back from a difficult period.

Meanwhile, Rashford is one of Manchester United's highest earners, earning more than £325,000 per week.

His contract until 2028 could prove to be a stumbling block for any club interested in securing a bargain deal.

Rashford has been told there is no guarantee a January 2025 move will happen, with United willing to listen to realistic offers.

Despite Rashford's dip in form which has cost him his place in the England squad, he remains United's biggest star.

The Red Devils will not consider offers that are deemed financially unviable.

It is unclear whether the forward has submitted a formal transfer request.

Rashford has scored seven goals in 24 appearances in all competitions this season. He signed a lucrative long-term contract in July 2023, but has scored just 15 goals in 67 games since.
