Central PWI General Chair Hendry Ch Bangun Calls GRCE A Symbol Of Media Professionalism
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) reiterated its role as a guardian of democracy with important achievements: Government, Risk, and Compliance Executive (GRCE) certification. The General Chairperson of the Central PWI, Hendry Ch Bangun, called this certification a new milestone for the world of press professionalism in Indonesia.
"With GRCE certification, we are not only improving organizational governance, but also strengthening the role of the press as the fourth pillar of credible and responsible democracy," said Hendry at the "PWI's Measurement and Commitment in Implementing GRCE" at The Tavia Heritage Hotel, Jakarta, Monday 23 December.
This event was attended by the ranks of the Central PWI management, media owners from various regions, and government officials. In his remarks, Hendry emphasized the importance of GRCE standards for the media, especially those who are more than 10 years old. According to him, this standard is a real step in increasing public professionalism and trust in the press world.

The Deputy for Supervision of the Indonesian Ministry of Cooperatives, Herbert Siagian, who was present at the event also appreciated the achievement of PWI. He hopes that this certification can improve the quality of governance of press organizations. "Pers plays a strategic role in conveying information that supports government policies and the interests of the community," he said.
This momentum is also a reflection for PWI to continue to maintain public trust. Hendry is optimistic, with GRCE certification, PWI can be an example for other press organizations in presenting quality journalistic works.
