Pertagas Commitment To Maintain Reliability Of Natural Gas Distribution Operations

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), Gamal Imam Santoso said Pertagas is always committed to maintaining operational reliability in distributing natural gas, both for the domestic and industrial sectors.

"Reliability in operations and services is the key in supporting national energy resilience," Gamal said in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, December 23.

He said Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), part of Pertamina's Gas Subholding, is committed to continuing to innovate and collaborate to ensure a stable, safe and sustainable energy supply for all Indonesian people.

This commitment is in line with the company's business which is engaged in the development of integrated energy infrastructure, starting from gas regasification, gas processing to LPG, gas transportation, including the operation of natural gas transmission pipelines, to oil fuel pipeline managers (BBM).

Pertagas continues to show its commitment to building and operating energy distribution infrastructure in Indonesia. Until now, Pertagas has operated 2,930 kilometers of gas transmission pipelines located on the islands of Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan connecting various regions of the archipelago.

As a progressive and growth-oriented company, Pertagas not only maintains the existing business, but also continues to improve its operational performance.

Through the new tagline "Delivering Reliable Energy" Pertagas has emphasized its position as a new face of energy infrastructure which is the leading sector in its business development.

Meanwhile, Head of BPH Migas Erika Retnowati said natural gas infrastructure would be the main strategy in maintaining energy security, as well as supporting sustainable economic growth in the era of energy transition and natural gas downstream.

This was revealed by Erika during the 2024 BPH Migas Award which took place in Jakarta on December 13, 2024, Pertagas received two awards.

At the event Pertagas won the Second Best Gas Transportation Business Entity award for the Large and Small Medium Category categories. The award further strengthens Pertagas' role as the main pillar in strengthening national energy security through reliable and innovative energy distribution.

"The BPH Migas award is an appreciation to stakeholders, including ministries, institutions, business entities, and local governments, who support the development of the downstream oil and gas ecosystem in Indonesia," said Erika.

At the event of appreciation to business entities that actively improve oil and gas distribution and services, supporting national economic growth was also attended by Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung, President Director of Pertamina Gas Gamal Imam Santoso and Commercial Director of Pertamina Gas Kasdi Widodo.

The Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources expressed his hope that this award would be able to motivate stakeholders.

"We hope that the 2024 BPH Migas Award can encourage a sustainable contribution in strengthening energy resilience, fulfilling the availability, accessibility, and affordability of fuel and natural gas to encourage economic growth of up to 8 percent," said Yuliot.

He also emphasized the importance of collaboration between the central government, regions, and business actors to achieve Golden Indonesia and Advanced Indonesia by 2025.
