The Captain Of The Borobudur Indonesia To Africa Ship Officially Sandang Bintang Satu

JAKARTA - Marine Colonel I Gusti Putu Ngurah Sedana, the former captain of the Samudraksa ship on an expedition from the Borobudur Indonesia To Africa ship from 2003-2004, was promoted to one star on its shoulders.

This is stated in a copy of the decision letter of the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Number Kep/1545/XII/2024 concerning Dismissal from and Appointment in Position within the Indonesian National Armed Forces dated Friday, December 6, 2024.

Promotion of the position of First Star Admiral I Gusti Putu Ngurah Sedana occupies a new position as Sahli Tk II Siber Sahli Bid Officer. Intekmil and Cyber Sahli TNI Commander replace Admiral TNI Akmad Tarmizi.

I Gusti Putu Ngurah Sedana is known as an ocean-clouding Indonesian Navy officer by sailing ship. He served as a sailing officer at KRI Arung Samudera in carrying out a mission of granting around the world sailing 14 months to how many friendly countries were in 1996-1997.

His name in the world of sailing ships was getting worse when he was assigned by the Indonesian Navy to accommodate the Samudraksa Ship in the Borobudur Ship Expedition from 2003-2004.

At that time he had the rank of Captain of the Sea to navigate the Indian Ocean. Then it passed through Tanjung Harapan in South Africa, which is known as a deadly sea to try out the South Atlantic Ocean.

On the Borobudur ship expedition, he not only led the crew of civilian ships from 3 traditional sailors from Pangerungan Island, 6 Indonesian youth crews but also crews of 18 people from various countries such as England, Canada, the United States, New Zealand, Iran, and Sweden.

After successfully docking a ship in Acra-Ghana within 7 months of sailing in Indonesia, he was awarded the Satya Lencana for Culture from Indonesian President Megawati Soekarno Putri in April 2004.

After that, he returned to duty in the Indonesian Navy. The positions he had served included the Banyuwangi Lanal Palak, the Pontianak Lanal Palak, Danlanal Sibolga.

Meanwhile, the assignments outside the Indonesian Navy include PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko BUMN RI years as GM Candi Borobudur 2018 to 2021, Executive Director of TMII 2021-2022, VP HSSE at the TWC head office, GM candi Prambanan & Ratu Boko 2023-2024 and assignment back to TMII as GM Park and VP Park Activation TMII.

Interestingly, when receiving a decree to promote the position of First Admiral, the former Samudraksa ship crew was attending the 20th anniversary of the voyage of the Samudraksa ship in North Bali which was initiated by the Ministry of Tourism as a full supporter of the Indonesian-Africa Borobudur Ship Expedition.
