After Jeep Indomobil Will Bring Other Stellantis Brands To Indonesia, Leapmotor?

JAKARTA - PT Indomobil National Distribution recently announced the return of the iconist Jeep brand to the Indonesian market. Not only that, the company also announced that it would build Stellantis Brand House for the Indonesian market

Later, the facility will serve brands under Stellantis in Indonesia. Currently, they are just planning two brands at the Stellantis Brand House consisting of Citroen and Jeep.

CEO of PT Indomobil National Distribution, Tan Kim Piauw, said the concept of developing this facility would adjust the current capacity of the showroom and consider several appropriate locations for the place.

"So first of course we determine the location whether a product like Jeep needs to be in many locations or not, it will be a consideration. Then we consider which showroom facilities allow having more than one product," said Tan when met by reporters in Senopati, Wednesday, December 18.

Furthermore, he also added that it is open to the possibility of presenting other brands under Stellantis and presenting them in this service network. However, he did not want to reveal further about the brand.

"Are there other brands? Of course, it is possible that new facilities will be built other than existing facilities. It depends on market studies and needs later, so we have to study it later," added Tan.

However, Tan cannot promise to enter all Stellantis brands into the Indonesian market because it all depends on market needs so that Indomobil will determine which brand to explore this market.

Brand Stellantis itself there are 15, so if we talk from the top there are Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Jeep, RAM, Chrysler etc., that doesn't mean we will bring all brands or many brands. What we just decided now is that there are two official launches. We announce it after a clear study, what brands we might bring," concluded Tan.

Although it has not been explained in detail, there is a possibility that the brand to be brought up by Indomobil is the Leapmotor. What's more, this automotive brand from China has 20 percent stake in Stellantis.

Last April, one of its model lines, the Leapmotor T03, was caught on camera being tested by roads in Indonesia. Previously, this tiny car had been marketed in various countries including the European region as an affordable electric vehicle.

On the blue continent, Leapmotor T03 is marketed at prices ranging from 18,900 euros or the equivalent of Rp. 321.1 million. This tiny car accompanies other models such as C10 at a price of 36,400 euros (Rp. 618.4 million).
