Make Sure To Attend Trump's Inauguration, President Biden: We Can't Continue To Be Borne
JAKARTA - United States President Joe Biden said he would "of course" attend the inauguration of president Donald Trump next month, confirming his presence and rejecting what he called the Republican "turbation game".
"Of course," Biden said in an interview broadcast on Thursday on the Meidas Touch network, when asked if he planned to attend the handover of power on January 20.
"The only president who has ever avoided the inauguration is the person who will be sworn in," he continued.
Earlier, the White House had said President Biden would attend, while the Democrat politician had previously not discussed the matter personally.
Trump is known to have not attended Biden's inauguration as the 46th President of the United States on January 20, 2021, becoming the first president in 150 years to decide on a political tradition that is considered to affirm the peaceful surrender of power in Uncle Sam's country.
Trump has never acknowledged his defeat to Biden in the November 3, 2020 presidential election and continues to make baseless claims about voter fraud.
His refusal to admit defeat led to a chaotic transition of government operations to the Biden Administration, delaying funding and access to federal agencies.
This year, to hand over his position, President Biden invited Trump to the White House after his victory on November 5 and the two held a meeting described by the White House as "very friendly." His administration has been instructed to follow traditional transitional procedures.

"The fact that he does not comply with the democratic rules that we have built is not my problem," said President Biden.
"My job is to make the transition implementable and available," he continued.
"The point is that we can't continue like this. We can't keep playing carelessly by just leaving when we don't agree and don't want to work together," he said.
