Ruben Amorim Wants Marcus Rashford To Stay At Manchester United

Ruben Amorim has informed Marcus Rashford that he wants the forward to stay at Manchester United.

Rashford has hinted that he is ready to leave and pursue new challenges after 20 years with the Red Devils.

However, Amorim insisted that the 27-year-old could find the challenge at Old Trafford as he wanted to return Manchester United to the pinnacle of European football.

"We have a new challenge here. It's difficult. For me, it's the biggest challenge in football because we're in a difficult situation."

"I've said that this is one of the biggest clubs in the world. It's a really new and biggest challenge."

"I really hope all my players are ready for this new challenge," Amorim told a news conference on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, local time.

Rashford's comments came days after he was removed from the line-up in a 2-1 win over Manchester City.

"For me personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next step. When I leave, I won't feel annoyed anymore," said Rashford, who admitted that he was sad not to be played at the Etihad Stadium.

Amoritism revealed that he had not spoken to the British striker, who was given a day off on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

He will decide after training, whether Rashford will be part of the group that will depart for London for the Carabao Cup quarter-finals against Tottenham Hotspur on Friday, December 20, 2024.

Alejandro Garnacho was also not included in the squad at the Etihad Stadium. However, the Argentine is ready to face Spurs.
