Hit By Speedboat, Ship With 80 Passengers Sinks Off Mumbai Beach
JAKARTA - The ship carrying 80 passengers and five crew capsized off the coast of Mumbai, India, after a speedboat hit it on Wednesday.
A total of 75 people and five crew members were rescued, while one person was killed, local authorities said.
Rescue operations for the other five people are underway.
Reported by Reuters on Wednesday, December 18, local TV showed rescue workers wearing life jackets near the capsized ship.
The speedboat hit the ship, causing the ship to capsize, said Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra's state chief minister.

The fast boat hit our boat and the water started to get into our boat and overturned. The driver asked us to wear a life jacket, "a passenger on the ship told news channel ABP Majha.
"I swam for fifteen minutes before being rescued by another boat," he said.
The passenger ship, called Neelkamal, is heading for the Elephant cave, a popular tourist destination off the coast of Mumbai, when it sank.
