Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport Predicts To Serve 83 Thousand Passengers At The Peak Of The Christmas Holiday
JAKARTA - General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab predicts that his party will serve 83 thousand passengers both arriving and departing in a day at the peak of the 2024 Christmas flow.
"The peak for Christmas holidays will occur on December 20, 2024, namely 489 aircraft movements with a total of 83,635 passengers," said Syaugi, Wednesday, December 18.
According to Syaugi, the peak of traffic will occur four times at the end of this year, namely in the flow of tourist arrivals ahead of Christmas 20 December and after Christmas 26 December, as well as the moments of the new year 29 December and 2 January 2025.
The figure of the range of 80,000 passengers per day is also predicted to occur at three other traffic peaks, namely 81 thousand passengers or 452 aircraft movements on the backflow of Christmas 26 December 2024.
"Meanwhile, the peak of the new year holiday is predicted to occur on December 29, reaching 503 aircraft movements and 80,766 passenger movements, and the peak of backflow occurs on January 2, 2025, it is predicted that there will be 467 aircraft movements with an estimated 79,957 passenger movements," he said.
Airport managers set this figure in view of temporary data and growth trends from the previous year's Christmas.

Syaugi said that so far they have received 449 requests for extra flights from seven airlines, namely 122 flights from Indonesia Air Asia, 88 from Super Air Jet, 87 from Lion Air, 82 from Citilink, 30 from Garuda Indonesia, 22 from Nam Air, and 18 extra flights from Pelita Air.
All extra flights will serve seven domestic flights with the first highest route to Jakarta with 265 flights, in second position to Surabaya 76 flights, Makassar 38 flights, Lombok 22 flights, Pontianak 12 flights, and Banjarmasin eight flights.
With a temporary calculation, during the 19 days of the Christmas and New Year 2025 period, Bali Airport will serve 1.3 million passengers with an average daily of 70 thousand passengers either arriving or departing or an increase of 10 percent compared to the same period the previous year.
