BAIC Responds To 3 Percent Incentives From The Government For Hybrid Vehicles

JAKARTA - The government through the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Arilangga Hartarto has announced incentives in several sectors, including for Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) cars.

The government has set the latest policy regarding PPnBM DTP for hybrid motorized vehicles by providing a discount of 3 percent.

"Regarding the latest, PPnBM DTP is for hybrid motorized vehicles. Now, VAT for hybrid is the government provides a discount of 3 percent," said Airlangga.

Tentu ini akan memberikan respons yang beragam termasuk dari pemain otomotif, salah satunya dari produsen otomotif China BAIC.

BAIC Indonesia's Chief Operating Officer (COO), Dhani Yahya, said that his party welcomes this well and feels quite important, especially for hybrid vehicles that can reduce emissions in urban areas.

"We see that this incentive is important because hybrid drivers on inner-city routes use batteries. While at speeds of more than 70 km/hour he will move to engine drivers," said Dhani when met by the media at Indak Kapuk 2 Beach, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 17.

Nevertheless, Dhani added that his party still hopes that the government can increase incentives for hybrid cars in the future.

"The average speed of driving in the city is 30-40 km/hour, so it will only use batteries. However, we expect incentives to be even greater," said Dhani.

He also revealed that BAIC highly respects the government's decision and will communicate further incentives through the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) to see what its potential looks like.

"Whatever they provide, we will run it and we welcome this. What is clear is that the government will cooperate with partners like Gaikindo and we will provide them with suggestions like what," concluded Dhani.

This automotive manufacturer from China will present its first hybrid line in Indonesia called BJ30 Hybrid in the middle of next year.
