AHY And The Minister Of Public Works Check The Readiness Of The Klaten-Prambanan Segment Toll Road Ahead Of Christmas-New Year
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development (Menko Infra) Agus Harimukti Yudhoyono (AHY) reviewed the readiness of the Solo-Yogyakarta-NYIA Kulon Progo Klaten-Prambanan Toll Road ahead of the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.
"My visit as Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development is currently with the Minister of Public Works (Dody Hanggodo) to ensure that the toll road is approximately 8.6 kilometers long, from Klaten-Prambanan as a quick solution to unravel traffic congestion during Christmas and New Year," said Coordinating Minister AHY in Klaten, Central Java, Antara, Tuesday, December 17.
AHY reviewed the readiness of the 8.6-kilometer Klaten-Prambanan functional toll road ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays. His party ensures the readiness of toll road infrastructure as a quick solution to unravel the potential for traffic density in the area when the peak of the holiday flow.
Although still in the refinement stage, Coordinating Minister AHY hopes that the functional toll road can be used temporarily by paying attention to the safety and comfort aspects of road users.
Some attention is paid to street lighting, traffic signs, and vehicle density management at the Prambanan intersection which has the potential to cause traffic jams.
"We know that Christmas and New Year will have higher traffic that will occur in this area, therefore by functioning the toll road which is still being perfected, it is referred to as a functional toll road," he said.
Coordination between the government and the police has been carried out to ensure optimal traffic control, including traffic engineering if necessary.
The government's main focus is to keep the flow of transportation smooth and safe for the safety of people traveling during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
This effort involves cross-ministerial cooperation, including the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Transportation, to support the readiness of land transportation infrastructure as a whole.
"I think that's what all of us are concerned about, hopefully, everything will make things smooth as well as possible," said Coordinating Minister AHY.
The path of the Klaten segment to Prambanan is functionalized, both from Solo to Yogyakarta and vice versa.
This Klaten-Prambanan segment line is part of the Solo-Yogyakarta-NYIA Kulon Progo Toll Road. The toll road can later provide benefits in increasing connectivity and accessibility from Solo City to Yogyakarta City and its surroundings.
Then, increase the efficiency of travel time from Solo to the city of Yogyakarta and its surroundings. The next benefit is to facilitate access to tourism areas such as to Prambanan Temple and other productive areas.
Solo-Yogyakarta-NYIA Kulon Progo (Jogja-Solo) Toll Road Section 1 Kartasura-Klaten along 22.3 Km has been inaugurated by the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo.

The construction of the toll road, which starts in 2021 and is completed in 2024, is an important part of the government's efforts to encourage new economic growth, increase the efficiency of the time and logistics system, and regional competitiveness.
