Transportation Innovation: Bogor Regency Government Launches Electric Bus, Sentul-Bojong Gede Becomes First Route

BOGOR Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab) launched an electric bus operation as an effort to provide environmentally friendly transportation access while reducing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

The inauguration was held at Tegar Beriman Square, Cibinong, Tuesday, December 17, with the inaugural route Sentul-Bojong Gede.

This electric bus will serve the public for free with operating hours from 06.00 WIB to 19.00 WIB.

Chairman of the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (Periklindo), General TNI (Ret.) Moeldoko, appreciates the steps taken by the Bogor Regency Government which has implemented Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 7 of 2022 regarding the acceleration of the use of electric vehicles.

This is an extraordinary step that other local governments need to emulate. There are many benefits from the use of electric vehicles, ranging from cleaner environments to reducing fuel oil subsidies (BBM). In addition, this also provides education for our next generation," said Moeldoko.

He hopes that this electric bus will not only serve the needs of the public but also be designed for the convenience of students.

The Acting (Pj) Regent of Bogor, Bachril Bakri, invites the public, especially students, to use this electric bus as a means of daily mobility.

"Let's use this electric bus to protect the environment, so that air and emission pollution can be reduced to zero. Currently there are two electric buses, and in the future we are trying to increase the number. I also thank General TNI (Ret.) Moeldoko who is willing to attend to support this program," Bachril said.

Head of the Bogor Regency Transportation Service (Dishub), Agus Ridhallah, explained that this electric bus is a domestic product made by PT Mobil Anak Bangsa. The bus will serve the Bambu Kuning-Bojong Gede-Tugu Pancakarsa Sentul-Jalan Tegar Beriman-Simpang Daralon-Jalan Edi Yoso-GOR Pakansari-Simpang Kandang Roda-Jalan Alternative Sentul, with a route length of about 12 kilometers.

We name this bus Tegar Beriman Bus. The bus has a capacity of 28 passengers with a waiting time of every 30 minutes. We hope that this environmentally friendly transportation can be the main choice for the people of Bogor Regency as well as the first step in developing mass transportation based on electric vehicles in the future," said Agus.

The launch of this electric bus is a form of the Bogor Regency Government's commitment to providing innovative and sustainable modes of transportation. It is hoped that the presence of electric buses will not only increase accessibility but also support carbon emissions reduction and increase public awareness about the importance of protecting the environment.
