Entering The Unhealthy Predicate, OJK Revokes The BPR Kencana Business License

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) revoked the business license of PT Bank Percreditan Rakyat Kencana which is located at Jalan Jend. H. Amir Machmud Number 271, Cimahi City, West Java Province.

This is in accordance with the decision of the OJK Board of Commissioners Number KEP-102/D.03/2024 dated December 16, 2024 regarding the Revocation of the Business License of PT Bank Percreditan Rakyat Kencana.

The Head of OJK for West Java Province, Imansyah, said that the revocation of the PT BPR Kencana business license was part of the surveillance action taken by the OJK to continue to maintain and strengthen the banking industry and protect consumers.

"On April 4, 2024, OJK has designated PT BPR Kencana as a bank in Bank Dalam Restructuring supervision status because it has a KPMM ratio of less than 12 percent, Cash Ratio (CR) on average for the last 3 months is less than 5 percent, and the BPR Health Level (TKS) has an Unhealthy predicate," he said in his statement, Tuesday, December 17.

Imansyah conveyed that further on November 26, 2024, OJK appointed PT BPR Kencana in the supervisory status of Bank Dalam Resolution (BDR) with the consideration that OJK had given sufficient time to the Management and Shareholders of PT BPR Kencana to carry out restructuring efforts, especially in overcoming capital and liquidity problems.

This is as stipulated in the Financial Services Authority Regulation Number 28 of 2023 dated December 29, 2023 concerning the Determination of Status and Follow-up to the Supervision of the People's Economy Bank and the Sharia People's Economy Bank.

"However, the BPR Management and Shareholders cannot restore the BPR," he explained.

Then based on the Decree of the Board of Commissioners for the Bank Deposit and Resolution Guarantee Program Number 140/ADK3/2024 dated December 9, 2024 concerning Bank Resolution in PT BPR Kencana, the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) decided not to save PT BPR Kencana and asked OJK to revoke the BPR's business license.

Following up on the LPS request, OJK based on Article 19 of POJK above, revoked the business license of PT BPR Kencana.

As for the revocation of this business license, LPS will carry out its guarantee function and carry out the liquidation process in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 24 of 2004 concerning the Deposit Insurance Corporation and Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector.

Imansyah conveyed that OJK continues to appeal to customers of PT BPR Kencana to remain calm because public funds in Perbankan including BPR are guaranteed by LPS in accordance with applicable regulations.
