Government Ready To Launch Free Nutrition Food Program On January 2, 2025

JAKARTA - The Indonesian government is ready to launch the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG) on January 2, 2025, as part of efforts to improve the nutritional quality of Indonesian children.

After going through intensive trials for several months, various processes related to the implementation of the program have been carefully prepared, ranging from the provision of raw materials, service unit operations, food delivery to schools, to waste management.

Spokesperson for the Presidential Communication Office, Hariqo Satria Wibawa, said that MBG is President Prabowo Subianto's priority program.

Through this program, the government aims to reduce the nutritional gap in Indonesia, improve the quality of life of children, and form superior human resources that are ready to compete in the future.

"The president wants Indonesian children to have adequate nutrition with healthy food. The hope is that by 2025, students and students will become a golden generation that is ready to welcome Indonesia Gold 2045," said Hariqo.

With this program, the government hopes that the level of malnutrition in Indonesia, especially the stunting rate in children, can decrease significantly in the next few years.

This program aims to provide free nutritious food to underprivileged people, especially children, pregnant women, and the elderly.

By involving local governments, communities, and private partners, it is hoped that people in need can enjoy healthy food every day.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, emphasized that access to nutritious food is the basic right of every citizen.

"The problem of malnutrition, especially stunting, is still a big challenge in Indonesia. Through the *Eating Free Nutrition * program, we hope to provide a real solution by providing nutritious food for vulnerable people," said Budi Gunadi.

Budi added that this program is in line with Indonesia Gold's 2045 vision, where the quality of human resources is one of the main focuses of national development.

In the future, this program is planned to be expanded to rural areas that are difficult to reach. The government also plans to cooperate with more parties, including schools and health centers, to make this program part of public health education.

"We want this program not only to provide nutritious food, but also to educate the public about the importance of a healthy diet and balanced nutrition," he added.
