Not Only Focusing on Industry, KITB Wants to Build a Premium Residential Zone Similar to PIK 2

BATANG - PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (KITB) will build a premium commercial and residential zone similar to the PIK 2 concept.

This step is a response because it was inspired by the integrated industrial area model with housing, entertainment, tourism, and education facilities like in Shenzhen, China.

"Starting in the next two to three years, there will be hotels, apartments, malls, cafes, and restaurants on the beach, similar to PIK 2," said KITB President Director Ngurah Wirawan to reporters at Grand Batang City, Sunday, December 15.

Ngurah explained that the master plan for development initially only focused on building factories for downstreaming.

However, he ensured that development in KITB was in accordance with the criteria desired by the government.

"Initially, what the government wanted was like an electric car factory, then an electric motorbike, a battery factory, then solar panels, semiconductors, it was expected to be here. But it turns out that I have been selling for 2 years, looking for investors, it's not easy. Sometimes it takes time, in the meantime we have to grow and live, support employees," he said.

Ngurah added that the development of commercial and residential zones will be carried out in parallel with the industrial area.

"Batang is different. For example, you and your family depart from Jakarta, and stop by Batang, there are water sports on the coastline. Because we are on the cross-country route. So the type of tourism is simple. For example, like Ancol which can be passed in one go. But we are still exploring the concept," he said.
