The Indonesian Navy Is Strengthened Again By One Domestically Made Delay Ship
The Indonesian Navy is again strengthened by a tugboat made by the domestic shipyard Dok Bahari Nusantara in Cirebon, West Java.
Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service (Kadispenal) First Admiral TNI I Made Wira Hady Arsanta Wardhana explained that the ship launch event took place in Cirebon, Friday, December 13, led by Assistant Logistics (Aslog) Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL) Rear Admiral TNI Eko Sunarjanto.
"This delayed ship is specially designed to provide guidance and delay services in helping the maneuver movement of warships from the Republic of Indonesia (KRI) in and out of ports," said Kadispenal, quoted from Antara, Sunday, December 15.
He continued that the latest tugboat for the Indonesian Navy is planned to be placed at the Batam Navy Base IV Fleet Command I.
The Indonesian Navy in its official broadcast confirmed in Jakarta, Sunday, said that the purchase of tugboats from domestic shipyards was a concrete step for the Navy to support the government's program to improve domestic products (P3DN). The Indonesian Navy is committed to supporting all efforts that can strengthen the nation's independence, especially to meet the needs of national defense.
"According to the Asta Cita President of the Republic of Indonesia, the Indonesian Navy will continue to strive to strengthen the country's security defense system, and encourage the nation's independence through food self-sufficiency, energy, water, creative economy, green economy, and blue economy, to realize Indonesia Gold 2045," said Kadispenal.
The latest tugboat of the Indonesian Navy has specifications of which are 30 meters long, 11.6 meters wide, 5.1 meters high, and capable of sailing at a maximum speed of 12 knots. The tugboat is also equipped with search and rescue capabilities (SAR), because it has fire extinguisher equipment with a capacity of 600 cubic meters of water, which is capable of reaching fires up to a distance of 100 meters.
"The ship can not only help extinguish the fire, but also evacuate victims at sea," said Kadispenal.
In recent years, the Indonesian Navy has consistently collaborated with domestic shipyards to buy tugboats. Several domestically made tugboats that have strengthened the Indonesian Navy's fleet, namely TD Irau, TD Umsini, TD Gunung Ranai, TD Galunggung, and TD Malabar.

Generally, the Indonesian Navy's tugboats are given a TD code and bear the names of the mountains in Indonesia.
The tug/tugboat is part of the Integrated Fleet Weapon System (SSAT), which consists of warships (KRI), airplanes, marine troops, and bases. The tugboat became a crucial tool for ensuring the shipping traffic and the ship's docking process at the base went smoothly.
The tugboats currently strengthening the Koarmada I fleet and base include TD Galunggung and TD Malabar, then in Koarmada II there are TD Merapi, TD Merbabu, TD Wilis, TD Tambora, TD Tinombala, TD Bromo, TD Lawu, and TD Anjasmoro, and in Koarmada III there are TD Irau and TD Umsini.
