Bahlil: The Political System Formulated By Golkar Does Not Reduce People's Rights

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party Bahlil Lahadalia stated that the political system that is being formulated by the party he leads will be more efficient, but not reducing people's rights and values.

Bahlil's statement continued the proposal of the Golkar Party which wanted to formulate a new formulation of the political system in Indonesia, which was considered high-cost to President Prabowo Subianto at the Peak of the 60th Anniversary of the Golkar Party in Bogor, West Java, Thursday (12/12) night.

"Now we are looking for the right formulation about our democratic system that is appropriate in accordance with the rules, civilities, customs, and our culture. And without reducing the values and rights of the people," Bahlil said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 13.

Bahlil assessed that the proposed more efficient political system concept had been submitted to adjust the existing democratic system.

When asked about the idea to be included in the Omnibus Law Politics, Bahlil said that the concept was still being formulated and would be discussed further with the government.

According to Bahlil, the cost of implementing democracy, one of which is for regional elections, is very expensive, both from organizers, candidate candidates, to political parties. Moreover, the cost of democracy is considered very unreasonable.

"What is clear is that the figure in my opinion is not right," he said.

In fact, he said, the main goal of democracy is as an instrument to realize the country's goals, such as creating jobs, educating the nation, and growing the economy.

"We think that we want our democracy to be an efficient democracy, it's too expensive for democracy. But we don't ignore the rights of the people. Our democracy involves the people, but don't let it be expensive like this, you know," said Bahlil.
