Bandung City Government Sets 7 Buildings In Its Area To Be Cultural Conservation
JABAR - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) has designated seven iconic buildings in the City of Kembang as cultural heritage buildings.
The seven buildings are the Indonesian Building Sues, the Inggit Garnasih House, the PT KAI Office, the OSVIA Building, the Bandung District Court Building, the De Vries Building, and the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) Campus.
"This determination is not only a form of recognition, but also a concrete step in maintaining cultural and historical values for future generations," said Bandung Mayor's Expert Staff (Walkot) for Community and Human Resources (HR) Ricky Gustiadi in Bandung, Friday, December 13, as reported by Antara.
Ricky said that the government is committed to continuing to support conservation efforts, one of which is through tax incentives and revisions of regional regulations related to cultural heritage.
According to him, this determination is a strategic step to maintain the cultural wealth of the City of Bandung.
"Through the collaboration between the government, the cultural community, and the community, we want to ensure that every historic building remains steadfast as a witness to the long journey of Bandung City," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism (Disbudpar) of Bandung City, Arif Syaifudin, explained that the determination of this cultural heritage is an implementation of Law Number 11 of 2010 concerning Cultural Conservation.
He said this determination not only strengthens the identity of the City of Bandung as a historic city, but also opens up opportunities for the use of cultural heritage for education, tourism and research purposes.
"We hope this step can be an inspiration for the community to be more concerned about the preservation of cultural heritage," he said.
