Neuralink Again Investigated, Elon Musk Angry Again To The SEC
JAKARTA Elon Musk's dispute with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) does not seem to end anytime soon. On Thursday, December 12, Musk's lawyer sent a letter to the SEC.
In the letter, as Musk shared on his X account, it was written that the SEC was preparing a number of charges against Musk. It is not known for sure the root of the problem, but Musk's lawyer alluded to Neuralink.
"This week, the Commission has also reopened its investigation into Neuralink," said Alex Spiro, Musk's attorney. Most likely, this investigation was based on a request by lawmakers to re-monitore the security of the brain implant company.
Although Elon Musk's lawyer discussed Neuralink in his letter, there was no further explanation of the matter. The reason is, the letter made was more related to the Twitter purchase case a few years ago.
In the matter section, it is written that this letter relates to the Purchase, Sales, and Disclosure of Certain Twitter Shares. Musk's lawyer explained that the owner X and SpaceX agreed to face demands from the Commission within 48 hours.

"Musk agreed within 48 hours to accept payment of money or face charges on a number of charges. They stated that these demands were the result of directions from their superiors and that demands would soon be filed," said Spiro.
However, when Musk had almost agreed, the SEC called Musk's lawyer to testify. The institution is accused of threatening with intimidation tactics. Therefore, both Musk and Spiro strongly objected.
"This series of events makes it clear that the Commission is not motivated to find the truth, but instead engages in inappropriate campaigns against Musk and the individuals and companies associated with him," Spiro explained.
