Liga Nusantara Starts Rolling And Followed By 16 Clubs, So Ajang Bornakan Talenta Baru

JAKARTA - PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) and PSSI officially determined the date of the start of the Nusantara League, namely on Friday, December 13, 2024. A total of 16 clubs were involved and competed to win the title.

The Nusantara League is a new name used for Liga 3 this season. Lasting until February 25, 2025, the status of this competition has also changed to semi-professional.

Of the 16 clubs participating in the Nusantara League, all are representatives of each region in Indonesia.

Six clubs consist of those who are relegated from Liga 2 2023/2024, while the other 10 are clubs that appeared in the last 16 of Liga 3 the previous season.

The format of this time's Nusantara League competition includes a preliminary round with a double round robin centralization system, then there is a relegation playoffs, and the last six with home-away formats continued to the final round.

Of the entire series, there are a total of 146 matches to be played.

In the preliminary round, PT LIB divided 16 clubs into two groups. The cities of Solo and Denpasar were chosen as hosts. Meanwhile, the final round is planned to be held in Jakarta.

The opening match of the Nusantara League will bring together Persipasi with Tornado FC. The match will be held at the West City Square, Solo, on Friday, December 13, 2024, afternoon WIB.

PSSI hopes that the Nusantara League can be a place to produce new talents in order to strengthen the Indonesian national team in the future.

You see, each team is only allowed to play a maximum of five senior players (22 years and over) as starters, while the rest are U-20 and U-22 players.
