KPK Summons Yasonna Laoly Regarding Harun Masiku's Case Tomorrow

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned former Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna H. Laoly on Friday, December 12 tomorrow. He will be examined as a witness.

"It is true that there is a schedule for tomorrow's summons," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika to reporters in a written statement, Thursday, December 12.

Even so, Tessa has not detailed the examination material. Including the cases to be investigated.

However, information circulated that Yasonna would be summoned to investigate the alleged bribery process for the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives that ensnared Harun Masiku. The former PDIP candidate is still at large.

As a reminder, Yasonna once issued a statement that Harun Masiku had not returned to Indonesia from Singapore. This incident occurred after the KPK failed to arrest Harun during a hand arrest operation (OTT) on January 8, 2020.

In fact, based on CCTV footage at Soekarno-Hatta Airport circulating, Harun turned out to have returned to Indonesia on January 7 or before the OTT took place.

After the confusion, the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights said Harun had returned to Indonesia. The information that had been submitted was finally corrected.

It was previously reported that Harun Masiku has now been a fugitive for four years or since 2020. This escape was carried out after being named a suspect in the bribery of former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to serve as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives through the interim replacement mechanism (PAW).

The KPK ensures that Harun's search continues. Investigators developed new clues found in the car of the suspected briber Wahyu Setiawan in an apartment.

"We have found that there are indeed several documents and indeed there are new clues that we have found related to the HM case. This is what we are developing," said KPK Investigation Director Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters quoted on Friday, September 27.
