Central Java UMP 2025 Increases To IDR 2,169,349

SEMARANG - The Central Java Provincial Government set the provincial minimum wage (UMP) in 2025 at IDR 2,169,349, or an increase of 6.5 percent from the 2024 UMP of IDR 2,036,947.

The determination of the 2026 UMP was announced by the Acting Governor of Central Java Nana Sudjana at his office, Semarang, Wednesday, December 11.

"On this occasion, I announce the determination of the Central Java Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) in 2025 amounting to Rp2,169,349. It has increased by 6.5 percent or Rp132,402 from the 2024 UMP amounting to Rp2,036,947," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

According to him, the determination of the 2026 UMP is contained in the Decree of the Governor of Central Java Number 561/38 of 2024 concerning the Minimum Wage of Central Java Province in 2025.

Nana explained that the determination of the 2025 UMP was based on the Constitutional Court Decision Number 168/PUU-XXI/2023 dated October 30, 2024, against the Job Creation Act.

The decision was followed up with the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower Number 16 of 2024 concerning the Determination of Minimum Wage in 2025.

"In addition, it is also based on the plenary meeting of the Wage Council of Central Java Province on December 6 and 9, 2024," he said.

The minimum wage, he said, applies to workers or laborers with a working period of less than one year for the company concerned.

Meanwhile, wages for workers or laborers with a working period of one year or more are guided by the structure and scale of wages.

"The determination of this UMP is to protect workers with a working period of less than one year, so as not to be paid below the predetermined wages," said the former Metro Jaya Police Chief.

After the determination of the UMP, the district/city government will then propose the district/city minimum wage (UMK) in Central Java in 2025 which will be set to a maximum on December 18, 2024.

"By stipulating the UMP for Central Java Province 2025, companies in Central Java can immediately adjust and implement it starting January 1, 2025," he said.
