When The BMW M4 Competition Was Transformed Into An Australian Police Fleet Vehicle

JAKARTA - A significant step was taken by the Western Australia Police Force which acquired a BMW M4 Competition for its operational vehicles.

Launching from Drive, Wednesday, December 11, this high-performance couple-style car is used by local officials in addition to other operational fleets such as BMW X5, Skolda Superb, Kia Sorento, and Kia Styler.

Although its fleet unit uses a 'Highway Patrol' livery, the police said the M4 Competition was loaned from BMW Australia and would be used for promotional purposes over the coming months.

The BMW M4 Competition is one of the initial variants in the lineup of the two-door coupe. This car has the same runway as its standard version, but with more excellent performance.

The car is equipped with a 3.0 liter twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine capable of producing 390 kW of power and 650 Nm of torque assisted by an all-wheel drive system (AWD) and eight automatic accelerations.

With this impressive power, the car is able to run from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds with the highest speed being limited to 250 km/hour and able to run up to 290 km/hour with the M Driver Package.

In Australia, the BMW M4 Competition is one of the most expensive lines in the BMW M lineup with a price tag of 186,500 Australian dollars (Rp1.890 billion).

In addition to the BMW M4 Competition, the police in Western Australia are also testing Kia EV6 GT-Line which has a sporty look and has tested with several models, including Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Toyota Mirai.
