Proven Tin Corruption, Former Head Of ESDM Babel Divonis 4 Years In Prison
JAKARTA - Former Head of the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) of Bangka Belitung Province for the 2015 period, Suranto Wibowo, was sentenced to 4 years in prison.
The verdict was handed down by the panel of judges in connection with the alleged corruption case in the management of tin commodity trading in the mining business permit (IUP) area of PT Timah Tbk. 2015 '2022.
"Sentenced the Defendant (Suranto) to imprisonment for 4 years and a fine of Rp. 100 million," said Head of the Panel of Judges at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court, Fajar Kusuma Aji, at the Jakarta Corruption Court, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 11.
If the fine is not paid, said Fajar, it will be replaced by imprisonment for three months.
The panel of judges stated that Suranto Wibowo had been legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption together, as stated in the indictment of the subsidiary of the public prosecutor, Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

The verdict is three years lower than the demands of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Attorney General Ardito Muwardi in the trial of reading the indictment at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Monday (18/11).
The prosecutor demanded that Suranto be imprisoned for seven years.
