Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Riza Wonder Jakarta Is Listed As The Most Expensive City In The World
JAKARTA - Jakarta was named one of the most expensive cities in the world by The Bank Julies Baer's Global Wealth and Lifestyle Report 2021. The capital city of Indonesia is ranked among the 20 most expensive cities.
In response to this, Deputy Governor of DKI Ahmad Riza Patria was astonished. He only found out that Jakarta became the most expensive city. Jakarta Provincial Government said he will review the cause of the nomination.
"I just heard. Haven't read exactly what the survey looks like. Later we will review, thoroughly, why Jakarta entered our 20 most expensive in the world", said Riza at Balai Kota DKI, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, April 13.
But, Riza claims the price of goods needed in Jakarta is still affordable and by the pockets of its citizens. Although there is an increase in the price of food needs during Ramadan and the approach of Eid al-Fitr, he considers it still within reasonable limits.
"Certainly to this day in Jakarta, all needs can be met, the price is affordable, can be purchased by the citizens of Jakarta. Including food needs entering Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. Food needs, available stock, affordable prices", he said.
Quoted from CNBC, Swiss bank Julius Baer released the 25 most expensive cities in the world. Jakarta ranks among the 20 most expensive cities for millionaires.
Jakarta's consideration in the most expensive city in the world is the sale of goods that are highly valued, namely whiskey drinks and women's bags and shoes.
