Porsche Cuts Dealer Network in China Due to This
JAKARTA - Bad news comes from the famous car manufacturer Porsche which seems to be in a difficult position in the Chinese automotive market.
Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Wednesday, December 11, the German brand plans to reduce its dealer network in China by about a third by the end of 2026 or is called 'optimization'.
Currently, there are 138 official Porsche Centers in China. Based on information from Alexander Pollich, CEO of Porsche China, this number will be reduced to around 100 by the end of 2026. Porsche's optimization involves investing in dealerships in big cities such as Shanghai and Beijing.
The news emerged following the decline in sales of this luxury car brand in China. Talking about data, in 2023 Porsche sales fell by 15 percent with a total of 79,283 cars sold in China.

The trend is not only until that year, for 2024 it will also experience the same thing. In fact, its sales in China fell drastically by 29 percent in the first nine months of this year.
This news certainly caught the attention of many people because China was once Porsche's gold market, ranking as the largest market for eight consecutive years and contributing more than 30 percent of the brand's total sales.
It is said that the difficulties that Porsche is currently experiencing are due to the shift in market changes in the country which are now moving towards the eco-friendly vehicle segment. Porsche aims to increase its electric vehicle market share to 80 percent by 2030.
