IPhone SE 4 Reportedly Present With 48MP Camera And OLED Screen

JAKARTA - Apple is rumored to be bringing a major upgrade to the fourth generation iPhone SE (iPhone SE 4) which is scheduled for release in March 2025. Based on a recent report from South Korea, the iPhone SE 4 will carry a 48-megapixel rear camera, an OLED display, and various other modern features.

According to a report from ET News, LG Innoteck and LG Display will be the main camera and screen suppliers for this latest model. For the first time, LG Innoteck will provide front and rear camera modules for the iPhone SE 4, replacing its exclusive role in the iPhone SE 3 rear camera. Mass production of camera modules has reportedly started at the LG Innoteck plant in Vietnam.

The report reveals that the iPhone SE 4 front camera will use a 12 megapixel sensor, equivalent to the iPhone 16 front camera resolution. Although it has not been confirmed whether this will be a TrueDepth camera, previous rumors mentioned that the iPhone SE 4 will adopt Face ID instead of Touch ID.

On the back, the iPhone SE 4 will be equipped with a single 48-megapixel resolution camera, similar to the iPhone 16's Fusion camera. Although this technology was previously just a rumor, this latest report provides stronger validation.

Apart from LG Innoteck, Foxconn and Cowell Electronics from China will also contribute to the camera module supply chain for the iPhone SE 4.

From the screen side, the iPhone SE 4 will use a 6.1-inch OLED panel with low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) technology, similar to the iPhone 13 screen construction. LG Display has started mass production of this panel, but it is not a single supplier.

BOE, a Chinese company, is also said to be producing OLED screens for this device, with the potential to hold a large portion of the total order. LG Display is expected to supply about 25% to 35% of the total required screen.

With these improvements, the iPhone SE 4 is predicted not only to be an affordable option for Apple users but also to offer features and specifications that approach the iPhone's main line.
