Sonyfera Presents Various Themes On Pink Orchid Mini Album

JAKARTA - Bandung's indie-rock group Sonyfera introduced its newest extended play (EP) or mini album with the title Mantis Anggrek Pink, which consists of six 1990s.

This mini album has been planned since releasing the single Bumi Baru' last year, with thoughts of presenting music that is different from before. Mantis Anggrek Pink is described as an album that has more diversity of musical expressions, from being very Malay and subtle to being very aggressive.

The themes raised were also very diverse, such as on the tracks of the Pacific Part 1 and Part 2' which were inspired by a novel entitled Sendung Ombak by a controversial Japanese writer, the late Yukio Moni.

The two tracks tell of a young drama, between a poor fisherman and a rich girl on a minor island on the Pacific bank, "said Dika Perdana (guitar, vocals) in his statement, Monday, December 9.

On the 'Planetlvmba' track, the realist aspect is maintained. This song contains an imaginary theory that tries to describe human body as a planet of water inhabited by a dolphin-shaped spirit that wants to be free to leave the planet for enlightenment.

Meanwhile, Fluida Dramatika is inspired by the experience of a dream that is visualized, liquid, flowing, dynamic, full of surprises, and dramatic as in the imaginary world.

Then, Sonyfera's overthinker-like character was also poured out on the track 'Ringan', which tells the adventures of an Earth creature driving nights across districts.

"This song is also written as a form of invitation for everyone to live slowly, breathe the air of the earth as much as possible, calm down, smile sweetly and stretch their hands on various kinds of happy problems without being happy," said Dika.

In addition, the track entitled 'A Purba Cosmonaut Comes from another Future', which is the closing, contains questions about the mystery and phenomenon of the universe and its contents.

Meanwhile, the mixing and mastering process for this mini album was carried out by Adhit Androit and his artwork was carried out by Asti Elmanisa. Through this collection of recordings, Sonyfera hopes that her new work can be a new stepping stone towards other works that will come.
