JCI Sepekan Siginifikan, BeI Market Capitalization Reaches IDR 12,673 Trillion

JAKARTA The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) reported the positive performance of the Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) this week. JCI recorded a significant increase of 3.77%, closing trading at the level of 7,382.785 compared to last week's position at 7,114.266.

IDX Corporate Secretary, Eko Susanto, said that this increase also boosted market capitalization growth. "The market capacity grew 5.60% to Rp 12,673 trillion from Rp 12,000 trillion in the previous week," said Eko, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, December 7.

In addition to the JCI, the average daily transaction frequency also recorded an increase of 8.66%, from 1.14 million to 1.24 million transactions per day.

However, not all indicators are moving positively. The average daily transaction value decreased 20.30% to Rp 10.72 trillion, from the previous Rp 13.45 trillion. Daily transaction volume also fell sharply by 30.19% to 18.22 billion shares from 26.10 billion shares.

This decline does not reduce optimism in the market. The JCI which continues to increase shows market participants' confidence in the potential economic growth," said Eko.

Throughout this week, foreign investors recorded a net selling value of IDR 170.35 billion. However, cumulatively throughout 2024, foreign investors still posted a net purchase value of IDR 22.63 trillion, showing a positive trend in foreign investment flows in the Indonesian capital market.

Despite fluctuations in several indicators, the JCI surge and market cap reflect market participants' optimism about Indonesia's economic prospects. This positive trend is expected to continue, providing greater trust for domestic and foreign investors.
