ADOR Files Lawsuit, Questions NewJeans Contract Status

JAKARTA - Label ADOR filed a lawsuit to question their exclusive contract status with NewJeans. The lawsuit came after five NewJeans members announced the end of their contracts on November 28.

"On December 3, we filed a lawsuit with the Central Seoul District Court to confirm our exclusive contract with our artist NewJeans," ADOR said on Thursday, December 5.

"We hope that the issue with our artist will not be resolved through the court but this decision cannot be avoided to clarify to artists and shareholders so that exclusive contracts between agencies and artists cannot end on the claims of one party," he said.

They claim that this lawsuit was filed in order to avoid misunderstandings with their artists regarding the termination of exclusive contracts.

ADOR's desire to continue (contracts) with NewJeans has not changed. Despite the court's results regarding the contract, we believe discussions with artists are very necessary," ADOR said.

They also stated that they could not communicate with NewJeans members but they tried to avoid misunderstandings between the two parties.

We will do our best to restore love to NewJeans. We ask for your support so that ADOR and NewJeans members can resolve the situation maturely," ADOR said.

At his press conference, NewJeans terminated the contract in accordance with the content certification provisions they submitted to ADOR and HYBE.

"The return period ends tonight, but it looks like HYBE and ADOR now have no plans to form or listen to our request," the member said.

Minji explained, The exclusive contract between NewJeans and ADOR will end on November 29 at 12.00 p.m. South Korean time. We are tired of HYBE's insensive attitude and once again feel they have no desire to listen to our request.
